Rajcatum se letos dari, zbiram je na kyble a zavaruji a zavaruji....... vetsinou nakrajene na kostky,ve vlastni stave ale vcera jsem natrhala take paprily a kukurici a udela salsu.
We have a bumper crop of tomatoes this year, I am harvesting them by buckets and can and can.....mostly diced tomatoes just in their own juice, but yesterday, I also picked peppers and corn and made salsa.
Tady je recept, ktery jsem dala dohromady spojenim meho vyzkouseneho receptu a dalsich,ktere jsem nasla na internetu. Vse jsem zjednodusila a prizpusbila nasi chuti. Tady je:
6 kg rajcat (sparit, oloupat a nakrajet na vetsi kostky)
5 paprik nakrajenych na kosticky
3 cibule nakrajene na kosticky
3 kukurice( ne krmne), nozem okrajime zrnicka (muzete pouzit i mrazenou ci konzervovanou)
3 strouzky cesneku (prolisovat)
palive papricky ( podle chuti), nasekat na jemno
250 ml jablecneho octa
3lzicky cukru
2 1/2 lzicky soli
1 lzicka koreni cumin
hrst nasekaneho cilantro (nat koreni koriandr)
1 conzerva rajcatoveho protlaku ( u nas 156 ml )
Nakrajena rajcata nechame vykapat prez cednik, tim zkratime dobu vareni. Do velkeho hrnce dame vsechny prisady ( mino rajcatoveho protlaku ) a varime za obcasneho michani do zhoustnuti. Kdyz mame pozadovanou konzistenci (asi 30- 45 minut) pridame rajcatovy protlak,jeste chvilku povarime, naplnime do sklenic a 15 minut sterilujeme.
Here is my recipe, that I put together from my favorite recipe and some I found on the net. I simplified and adjusted it to our taste.
6 kg ( 12 pounds ) diced, peeled, tomatoes
5 peppers diced
3 onions diced
3 cloves of garlic choped
cornlets from 3 ears of corn
halupino pepper to your taste, finely choped
1 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tsp. sugar
2 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp. cumin
handful of choped cilantro
1 can (156 ml) tomato paste
Drain the tomatoes in a sieve ( this will reduce the cooking time greatly ) then put everything but the tomato paste in a big pot and cook uncovered until desired consistency for about 30- 45 minutes, stir frequently. Then add the tomato paste, cook for a little bit longer. Fill the jars and sterilize for 15 minutes.

Pro vetsinu lidi je 9/11 vzpominka na hrozne udalosti . Ja take vzdy vzpominam na obeti toho desiveho dne ale pro mne navzdy 9//11 zustane dnem Neilovych narozenin. Minuly viken jsme meli nadherne pocasi a tak jsme to oslavovali jak jinak nez z rodinou a prateli na lodi a na plazi. Makeef byl ve svem zivlu :)
For most people 9/11 is the day to remember the victims of this horrific event. I too think of them this day, but for me 9/11 was and always will be Neils B-day! We had such a magnificent weather last weekend and we celebrated with friend and family, how else? We spent the day on the boat and at the beach. Makeef had a blast too :))
